No Air Ambulance Reporting for 2023

Recently, CMS confirmed that the No Surprises Act requirement for reporting of information about air ambulance services will not occur in 2023. Section 106 of the No Surprises Act requires insurance companies, employer-based health plans, and air ambulance providers to report information to CMS about services they furnish to consumers. OMB, the IRS, the Employee Benefits Security Administration, and CMS had proposed rules for this reporting on September 16, 2021.  Reporting of 2022 data would be due by March 31, 2023, and 2023 data would be due by March 30, 2024.  Because the agencies are postponing reporting until after they issue the final rules, no reporting will occur in 2023.
