The My Health, My Data Act in Washington state establishes privacy protections for consumer health data. The Act passed through the Washington state House in March and through the state Senate on April 5 and proceeded to the Governor for signature.
- Gives consumers the right to access, delete and withdraw consent regarding health data,
- Requires regulated entities and small businesses to obtain consent to collect, share or sell consumer health data, and
- Makes violations enforceable under the Consumer Protection Act, which includes a private right of action.
