CDC Modifies COVID-19 Protocols for Healthcare Facilities

On September 23, CDC made several changes to its Interim Infection Prevention and Control Recommendations for Healthcare Personnel During the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Pandemic. The CDC removed a recommendation to use vaccination status when developing recommendations for use of facemasks and other source control, as well as screening, testing, or post-exposure control measures. Next, CDC no longer recommends masking in situations where healthcare workers meet with patients in person in communities without high levels of COVID-19 spread.
