Kroger and Priority Health Announce Co-Branded Medicare Plans

On October 4, Priority Health, a Michigan-based nonprofit health plan, and Kroger Health, the health care division of The Kroger Co., announced plans to launch two co-branded Medicare plans in eight counties in southeastern Michigan: Genesee, Ingham, Livingston, Macomb, Oakland, Saginaw, Washtenaw and Wayne.  The plans, PriorityMedicare + Kroger (PPO) and PriorityMedicare D-SNP + Kroger (HMO), will allow eligible members benefit allowances to buy nutritious food and health and wellness items at Kroger stores.  Members will also have the option to earn and use points for dollars spent and digital coupons, as well as online grocery ordering with next-day delivery.  The parties believe the offering will assist in addressing social determinants of health to improve care outcomes.
