CDC issued guidance for clinicians and health departments on identifying and testing suspected cases of monkeypox after the first confirmed case of the virus in the United States. Since mid-May, a total of 92 confirmed cases of monkeypox have been reported globally, including cases in Australia, Canada, 9 European countries, and the United States. As of the time of writing, two confirmed cases in the United States have been reported, one in Massachusetts and one in New York. Three additional presumptive cases are under investigation, including one in Florida and two in Utah. The cases in Massachusetts, Florida, and Utah appear to be linked to international travel.
