United Behavioral Health Wins Class Action on Appeal

In an appeal from a 2019 Class Action suit filed against United Behavioral Health (UBH), the Ninth Circuit  Court of Appeals overturned a district court’s ruling that UBH must reprocess 67,000 behavioral health claims due to ERISA violations. The Ninth Circuit  majority opinion stated, "UBH’s interpretation — that the plans do not require consistency with the (generally accepted standard of care) — was not unreasonable."
