Pioneering Study Reveals Ethnic, Racial Background of Black Law Students in U.S.

The ABA Journal reports in a recent article that a study published in the Berkeley Journal of African-American Law & Policy presented the first empirical data on race and ethnicity of Black law students. The study found particular underrepresentation of “Ascendant Blacks” (Black students born to two Black parents born in the U.S. as opposed to immigrants and multi-racial students), and, within that group, especially Black men.
