New Research Shows Empathy the Key Leadership Skill for Creating Inclusive Workplace, Retaining Women, Including Women of Color.

A study of 889 employees by Catalyst found that women and especially women of color said they were unlikely to think of leaving their jobs when their life circumstances seemed respected and valued (57% and 62% versus 14% and 30%).  When employees reported their leaders were empathetic, they were able to be innovative (61% vs. 13%), engaged (76% vs. 32%), and tended to consider their workplaces inclusive (50% vs. 17%).
