A settlement has been reached between Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd, an Israeli drugmaker, and Texas for $225 million for claims against the drugmaker for fueling the opioid epidemic in the state. In the settlement, Teva will both pay $150 million over 15 years and also provide $75 million worth of the generic pf Narcan to counter overdoses. Teva faces over 3,500 lawsuits seeking to hold it responsible for the opioid epidemic and deaths caused by overdose. Teva did not admit any wrongdoing as part of the settlement.
