Sen. Wyden Seeks Information on Medicare Marketing Complaints

Senate Finance Committee Chair, Ron Wyden, D-Oregon,has sent letters to the insurance regulators in 15 states asking for information pertaining to complaints from 2019 through 2022 about MA and Part D plan marketing. His basis for this new investigation is anecdotal evidence of a small increase in the number of complaints and a report from almost 15 years ago. The Committee seems to be concerned about aggressive and misleading marketing.  Advocacy groups are concerned that such investigations often lead to increased regulations or legislation that increases risk and costs and do not help the consumers.
