The ABA Health Law Section announces the creation of the Dobbs Task Force (“Task Force”) to examine the legal implications of the landmark Supreme Court decision. The Task Force will be chaired by Chair-Elect Adrienne Dresevic.
The Task Force’s mission is to provide educational materials for Health Law Section (HLS) members whose clients are impacted by the complex health law issues related to Dobbs. The Task Force’s focus will be on creating the high quality, non-partisan educational materials concerning health law issues.
The Dobbs Task Force is currently looking for HLS volunteers for the following projects:
- 50 State Survey and FAQs: Seeking volunteers from each state to commit to contribute up-to-date information on various topics implicated by Dobbs. This will also involve creating a series of FAQ documents to guide members of specific issues impacting members of each state.
- Subject Matter Experts/Publications/Presentations: Seeking volunteers to contribute to publications, programming and podcasts. Please send your proposed topics along with subject matter experts / topics.
Consistent with the Section’s practice examining any legal topic impacting our members, all materials created should focus on legal implications, and not reflect a HLS member’s political persuasion or political views on Dobbs or any particular state law.
Given the importance of this issue, HLS is committed to providing the latest information to our members as quickly as possible. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Simeon Carson ([email protected]) and Adrienne Dresevic ([email protected]) no later than Friday, August 19, 2022.
