On April 5, President Biden issued a memorandum to address the debilitating and lasting symptoms that can occur as Long COVID. The memorandum directs the Secretary of HHS to coordinate a new effort to research and develop a plan for addressing citizens experiencing Long COVID and its associated conditions in the areas of prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and the provision of services, supports, and interventions. These efforts include investigating how healthcare systems can best deliver care for people with Long COVID and strengthening and expanding and Long COVID clinics.
