Can mRNA Vaccines Help Fight Cancer?

Pfizer/BioNTech’s and Moderna’s  COVID-19 vaccines have made “mRNA vaccine” a household term. Scientists are now researching whether mRNA vaccines can fight the flu, malaria, HIV and even cancer. Next year, researchers at Duke University will conduct a trial with patients who have late-stage breast cancer to determine the impact of an mRNA vaccine on tumors that are unresponsive to drugs.
