Apple announced that changes to guidelines made in June 2021 will become effective on January 31, 2022. The revised guideline requires any company listed on Apple’s App Store to comply with Apple’s privacy policy to remain listed on the Apple App Store and to allow users to delete their accounts upon request. This new requirement is an effort by Apple to have more oversight, at least indirectly, over telemedicine and digital health companies in the App Store and may be the beginning of additional restrictions imposed by Big Tech on telemedicine and digital health companies.
