On May 10, the IRS announced 2022 adjustments for minimum deductibles and maximum out-of-pocket cost sharing in high deductible health plans associated with health savings accounts (“HSA”), as well as maximum HSA contributions. The IRS also announced that the maximum employer contribution toward an excepted benefit health reimbursement account.is unchanged from 2021 to 2022.
On April 30, HHS released the second part of the Affordable Care Act notice of benefit and payment parameters final rule for 2022. This notice includes the maximum limits for in-network, member out-of-pocket cost sharing for 2022, which is $8,700 for the final maximum annual limitation on cost sharing for self-only coverage for 2022, and $17,400 for other-than-self-only coverage.
