Ohio Attorney General Comes After Centene for Prescription Drug Payments

In a recently unsealed complaint, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost alleges that Centene and its subsidiaries conspired to wrongfully obtain millions of dollars from Ohio Medicaid. The scheme involved a contract with pharmacy benefit manager (PBM), CVS Caremark. The suit follows a string of actions Ohio has taken to unearth PBM practices, which revealed that their conduct has cost Ohioans as much as $186 million per year in excessive charges.
