According to Indiana University Health’s executive director of information services, Mitch Parker, there are three key areas of security that are lacking in the healthcare sector: tabletop exercise, structural walkthroughs, and incident response plans. To combat these threats, healthcare providers need to perform risk assessments to find the gaps in their security and take corrective action before an attack can be made. There may not be a one-size-fits-all plan that can cover the entire healthcare industry, but even small assessments and adjustments can lead to a stronger and more secure healthcare security landscape.
