Oglethorpe Inc. is a Florida company that operates two Ohio inpatient psychiatric hospitals, and one Ohio substance abuse treatment facility, will pay $10.25 million to resolve alleged violations of the Anti- Kickback Statute and the False Claims Act. According to the allegations, Oglethorpe improperly provided free long-distance transportation to patients as illegal inducement, and then admitted patients at its facilities who did not require inpatient psychiatric treatment, resulting in the submission of false claims to the Medicare program.
