On February 4, Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) sponsored a bill re-introducing the Family and Medical Leave Insurance Act (the Act). If passed, the Act would provide employees with up to 66% of their earnings for up to 12 weeks. The reimbursement would be available to all employees regardless of the size of the employer. Additionally, wage reimbursement would also be available for those that are self-employed and part-time workers. Bills with similar criteria have been introduced multiple times over the past eight years with no success.
