Chicago and Zocdoc Partner for COVID-19 Vaccine Rollout

The City of Chicago announced this week that it is partnering with Zocdoc to use Zocdoc’s scheduling technology to assist with the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine. Starting this week, Chicagoans were able to visit the Zocdoc vaccine scheduling website, where eligible users can select a date, time, and location to book their vaccine appointment with a nearby healthcare provider. Several leading local healthcare organizations have agreed to use the platform for vaccine scheduling and more are expected to participate. The Chicago Department of Public Health indicated that syncing Zocdoc into community-outreach strategies, including canvassing neighborhoods, communities, and planning to have vaccine education events where people sign up right on the spot will address the concern that using an online platform may deepen disparities in the distribution of the vaccine.” Chicago is the first municipality to implement Zocdoc’s vaccine scheduler.
