Pain and Insurance

The International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) has for the first time in forty years updated their definition of “pain” to acknowledge those who suffer from unexplained pain.  The hope of the IASP is that physicians and insurance companies will adopt new policies to deal with, and pay for pain, and not simply treat it as a symptom.  Whether this will have an impact is yet to be seen.
