Mail, Prescription Drugs, and COVID-19

Most Medicare Advantage MAPD, Medicare Part D, and large employer group plans encourage the use of mail order prescriptions, based on pharmacy benefit manager promises to save insurers money by ensuring prescription adherence. Further, with COVID-19, the number of people opting into mail order drug delivery has increased. Therefore, potential mail service delays could also be a concern for people who receive prescription drugs from mail-order pharmacies. The Postmaster General retracted his initiative that would cause a delay in mail delivery until after the November election.
