Healthcare professionals are volunteering to travel across the country based on staffing needs to treat the influx of COVID019 patients in communities experiencing a rise in such cases. Nurses are seeing how treatment for COVID-19 evolves as rapidly as their patients’ conditions and are facing many obstacles such as encountering PPE shortages, adjusting to new protocols, the emotional challenges with direct patient care, and frustrations of social media posts by family and friends who don’t believe the virus is real.
