In late May, the OIG released a short document detailing its strategic plan for oversight of COVID-19 response and recovery. The plan details four goals of OIG, including specific objectives within each goal. The first goal, for example, is to protect people, and details OIG’s objectives, including to “assist and support ongoing COVID-19 response efforts, while maintaining independence.” Each goal provides specific actions steps to further such goals, including conducting audits and investigations or reporting suspected fraud.
