Since late June, the Pentagon has been lifting its pandemic travel ban on a number of military bases. Back in March, at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Pentagon restricted domestic and international travel for Department of Defense employees. Currently, a military base may have its travel restrictions lifted if its state has a declining number of cases, there is no local stay at home order, and the base possesses a satisfactory health protection status. As of June 29, seventy bases have reopened, with many of those currently still closed being located in California and Florida.
