Primary Care Visits Return as Telehealth Plateaus

A recent study by The Commonwealth Fund analyzed in-person ambulatory practice visits from February 2020 to present, and noted a nearly 60% decline of in-person visits by early April 2020. As the in-person visits dropped, telehealth visits increased rapidly before plateauing, then slightly decreasing in the past three weeks. The study further notes a return of in-person visits across all specialties while the relative decline in visits remains greatest in surgical and procedural specialties, as well as pediatrics.
