Kaiser Family Foundation Study the Effects of COVID-19 on Mental Health

On April 21, the Kaiser Family Foundation published a study exploring the effects of COVID-19 on mental health and substance use. Issues of social isolation and the need for human interaction were addressed by the study, while it also dealt with the anxieties of job loss, financial crises, and protection of their family’s health. The study found that while those facing job loss may face higher rates of depression and higher risk of substance use, those workers on the frontline are suffering from severe drops in their mental health and exhaustion.
