Veterans currently utilizing their VA Educational Benefits to attend school and receive living stipends will have benefits extended during the COVID-19 pandemic. Previously, the stipend amount was higher for students who attended in-person classes. But, with colleges and universities suspending in-person classes and moving online during the COVID-19 pandemic, students’ eligibility for receiving the stipend was at risk. A new law signed on March 21 enables students to continue receiving the same amount as if classes were in-person for each veteran for either six months, or until their school resumes in person classes.
