IRS Permits High Deductible Health Plans to Cover COVID-19 Testing without Cost Sharing

The IRS is waiving certain requirements of high deductible health plans so that they can provide testing and treatment for the coronavirus without a deductible as part of the administration’s response to the spread of the coronavirus. This exemption will also not affect a person’s eligibility to make tax-favored contributions to an HSA if he or she is covered by such a plan.
