In New Hampshire, more beds will open for those diagnosed with a substance use disorder (SUD) seeking respite care services. The contracts, which will cost $2.1 million over the next two years, will allow for 11 more beds for men and women, and an additional 12 beds in an all-male facility. These beds, which will be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, will assist the state in combating homelessness and the over-utilization of the emergency room by those who suffer from SUD.
