On September 13, 2019, Walmart opened its first Walmart Health Center in Dallas, Georgia. The center offers primary care, labs, x-ray, EKG, counseling, dental, optical, hearing, and community health education services with transparent pricing. A second location is planned to open in Calhoun, Georgia in early 2020.
Walmart is also offering healthcare-related education for associates as part of its Live Better U program. Walmart is partnering with Penn Foster, Purdue University Global, Southern New Hampshire University, Bellevue University, and Wilmington University to offer seven bachelor’s degrees and two career diplomas in healthcare fields. Walmart started the program to support staffing health care roles in its retail pharmacies, vision centers, hearing centers, and the new Walmart Health Center across the Walmart and Sam’s Club organizations.
