New Mexico to Increase Medicaid Reimbursement Rates to Providers

On August 30, 2019, the New Mexico Human Services Department issued a public notice announcing its intention to raise certain medicaid provider payment rates effective October 1, 2019. The rate increases intend to fulfill Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s promise to support and strengthen providers participating in New Mexico’s health care safety net and to rebuild the state’s behavioral health system. The proposed rate increases were supported and funded by the New Mexico Legislature during its 2019 regular session. In total, the New Mexico Human Services Department proposed nearly $78.5 million in payment rate increases. All comments to the public notice must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on September 30, 2019.
