Consumer Technology Association Releases New Health Data Privacy Guidelines

The Consumer Technology Association, a trade association for the consumer technology industry, has released new health data privacy guidelines. The guidelines are voluntary and intended to provide baseline recommendations for technology companies that handle personal health data. These guidelines, first developed in 2015, have been expanded and are based on privacy concepts currently present and developing in U.S. law, while recognizing the potential impact that international privacy laws have on U.S. companies.
