Pharmacist Sentenced for Illegal Opioid Distribution

On August 12, 2019, Pauline Titlon, a Hesperia, California, pharmacist was sentenced to five years in federal prison following  her guilty plea to one count of distribution of oxycodone and one count of money laundering arising from greater than $250,000 of revenue received from illegal sales, as well as at least 345 fraudulent prescriptions for oxycodone. The prescriptions were written under the name and DEA registration number of a retired doctor. The pharmacist admitted knowing the prescriptions were fraudulent, outside the usual scope of professional practice, and without a legitimate medical purpose.
