McKinsey & Company has received major criticisms for advising its client, Johnson & Johnson, to increase opioid prescriptions by “‘get[ting] more patients on higher doses of opioids’ and to study techniques ‘for keeping patients on opioids longer.’” According to the New York Times, the state of Oklahoma used consulting records from McKinsey to build its case in its lawsuit against Johnson & Johnson and its subsidiary, Janssen Pharmaceuticals.
