On June 26, 2019, the Senate Health Education Labor and Pensions Committee approved an amendment to S. 1895, a bipartisan leadership bill to lower healthcare costs. On July 8, 2019, the Committee released a copy of the amended bill. America’s Health Insurance Plans issued a summary of this bill, which is expected to be further amended before receiving a vote by the full Senate. On July 16, 2019, the CBO issued a favorable report on the bill, determining that it would result in $7.5 billion of savings over ten years.
