The FCC proposed a three year telehealth pilot program to provide services to low-income patients, veterans, and areas lacking in adequate healthcare. The Connected Care Pilot Program would provide an 85% discount on connectivity for broadband-enabled telehealth services that connect patients directly to their doctors to treat a wide range of conditions. On July 10, 2019, the FCC voted to adopt a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) that would create this new pilot program and would provide $100 million in funding. The 30-day comment period will begin once the NRPM is published in the Federal Register.
