New VA Program Allows Veterans to Seek Private Health Care

As of June 6th, 2019, the VA may pay for health care that veterans seek through private providers. Congress passed The VA Mission Act of 2018, allowing veterans more choice in their health care providers and expanding their access to health care. To use a private provider, a veteran must be enrolled in VA health care and be approved to use a private provider.  The VA will assess a veteran’s individual health care needs to determine if they may see a private provider. The VA website contains more information for veterans.
