New Lawsuit Alleges that Faith-Based Denial of Care is Actionable Discrimination

A consortium of groups, including the ACLU, have added to the legal challenges already filed by states, cities, and other groups against proposed regulations allowing faith-based denials of care, also known as “Conscience Protections.”  This new lawsuit argues that the regulations would encourage discrimination against women, low-income residents, people of color, and the LGBTQ community by blocking access to legal medical procedures that include lifesaving treatments.
