Senator Warren Releases Plan to Address Opioid Epidemic

Presidential candidate Senator Elizabeth Warren has released a $100 billion plan to address the opioid epidemic. The proposal is an updated version of the CARE Act, previously sponsored by Warren and Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD). The plan would allocate $100 billion over 10 years to fight the opioid crisis, matching “the level of spending experts have long said is necessary to make a serious dent in the crisis and reverse it.”  Warren has previously advocated for more research into alternative painkillers, including medical marijuana.
