On May 4, 2017, the U.S. House of Representatives voted 217 to 213 (largely along party lines) to pass a bill entitled the American Health Care Act (AHCA) to repeal and replace the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), a/k/a Obamacare.1 In weighing the significance of this recent House vote, it is important to consider how the AHCA failed previously.
