The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has announced a settlement with Inmediata Health Group over allegations that the company improperly disclosed protected health information (PHI) in violation of HIPAA. The health care clearinghouse was found to have shared sensitive patient data without proper authorization as a result of a breach incident. As part of the settlement, Inmediata will pay a monetary fine and implement enhanced safeguards to ensure compliance moving forward.
