On June 10, 2024,  Microsoft announced a new program for rural hospitals in need of assistance with protection against cybersecurity attacks. For independent hospitals designated as Critical Access Hospitals and  Rural Emergency Hospitals, Microsoft will provide nonprofit pricing and discounts for its security products up to 75% off to smaller organizations. The hospitals that already use the select Microsoft products will have access to the most advanced security products at no cost for one year. Microsoft will also provide Windows 10 security updates for one year and free cybersecurity assessments. Hospitals are able to submit a request to join the program at this time.
