CMS Final Rule to Advance Access and Outcomes for Medicaid Beneficiaries

On May 10, 2024, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) published the Ensuring Access to Medicaid Services. The Final Rule aims to advance access to care, quality of care and improve health outcomes for Medicaid beneficiaries across fee-for-service and managed care delivery systems, including home and community based services provided through those delivery systems. The Ensuring Access to Medicaid Services will become effective July 9, 2024, but states will have up to six years to come into compliance with some requirements.
