GPSolo Activate Diversity Series

While the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 was a giant victory in the fight for disability rights, it is merely the floor for legal protections and does not always guarantee inclusion. So often, accessibility is perceived as an afterthought that is only considered once barriers that affect individuals with disabilities are identified. Although 1 in 4 Americans has a disability, many within the legal profession do not know how to best accommodate and support colleagues and clients with disabilities. This program will address the basics of disability etiquette, biases, stigma, and stereotypes that disabled individuals face within the legal profession, and give concrete takeaways to activate action towards a more inclusive and accessible profession.
