By Randi Brent Starrett

Lawyers, especially solo and small firm lawyers, are known for helping people during difficult times in their lives. Individuals living with disabilities face numerous challenges—in their workplaces, in schools, in courts, and in the everyday world.

GPSolo magazine’s July/August 2023 issue, “Disabilities in Law and in Law Practice,” includes articles to assist lawyers in representing clients with disabilities, including those with mental disabilities in the criminal justice system, those challenged with diminished capacity, and those with workplace discrimination claims. Other articles include ones to assist lawyers with disabilities, including articles on tech tools and disability insurance protection. Also included are articles on practicing law as an attorney with disabilities and including persons with disabilities. In reference to the court system, included is also an article on increasing accessibility for disabled individuals.
