Building a Practice: Networking Conversations Turn You and Me into Us

By Carol Schiro Greenwald

Conversations are the best part of networking. You learn wonderfully interesting details about other peoples’ lives, interests, wishes, wants, and needs. With preparation and practice, anyone can be a good conversationalist because it’s not about you. It’s about them—your audience. Every time you are able to help others, you feel good about yourself. Experienced networkers know that “what goes around comes around,” meaning as you deepen relationships through your conversations, you create more clients, referrers, and friends.
