Building a Practice: How Of-Counsel Relationships Help My Solo Firm

“No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main.” -John Donne

This was the quote that popped into my head when I was asked to write about working with other lawyers in my solo practice: “No man is an island.” The work we do is hard, stressful, exhausting, and unforgiving. The hours can be relentless, the expectations unreasonable, and the constant strain is just not something people are structured to handle all alone.
