Sexual harassment is a form of sex discrimination that violates Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VII) and its state and local equivalents. Unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other conduct may rise to the level of unlawful sexual harassment or create the basis for an expensive but meritless lawsuit.

Sexual harassment prevention training should be part of any employer’s effort to eliminate sexual harassment in the workplace. Training should reinforce the message conveyed in a sexual harassment prevention policy and comply with any requirements imposed by state or local law.
