It’s no secret that lawyers love a good debate. There are few things more satisfying to a litigator than leaving a hearing after an intelligent argument with an engaging and interested court. Well, except leaving the courtroom with the win. It’s also no secret that litigation is not always a case of two reasonable professionals advocating on behalf of their clients. To be sure, there is no shortage of lawyers who will use cheap litigation tricks intended to knock you off balance, rather than trying to win a case on the merits. Here is some basic advice for dealing with difficult counsel.
